Another important thing to look for in a stroller is its collapsibility. You want one that is easy to maneuver and can collapse quickly. Storage is a must. You want a stroller that has an area that you can put things in. If you are in the mall, you do not want to have to carry a diaper bag, a purse and your shopping bags.


Another must for your stroller is a canopy. A lot of moms forget that they are going to have their baby in rain and snow. Sometimes it can't be helped. A canopy protects them as you are getting to your car.

6 Easy Steps to Traveling Alone With Toddlers and Strollers

Have you ever thought to yourself, I am about to travel by myself with a toddler and an infant. Am I crazy???

I've asked myself that many, many times but somehow it all works out. Here are a few steps that will help to ease your worries.

1. Prepare all travel documents and place them in an "easy to reach" area of your carry-on bag.

Your travel documents such as confirmation numbers, IDs or passports, Hotel and car information, etc. should be kept together and placed in a pocket where you can easily have access to it with one hand.

2. If traveling with a stroller AND a carseat, keep everything on the stroller to allow you to easily maneuver through the airport terminal.

Your infant should remain strapped in his carseat and bags hung on the handle so that you have a free hand to hold on to your toddler. Or if you have a double stroller, that would be additionally helpful.

3. While in line at the security check point, have all tickets and your ID out and ready for the agent to review. After they're done, promptly slip your ID into an accessible pocket.

If possible, travel with a bag/purse that have "handy dandy" outside pockets to easily slip your ID, baggage tags or anything small of that nature. This will save you the hassle and time of pulling out your wallet to put everything away while everyone else behind you impatiently wait their turn.

4. Have your toddler remove her shoes and place it in the bin (if possible, have her wear socks with her shoes/sandals so that she doesn't have to walk on the dirty floor. Have her wait at your side until you are ready to go through the metal detector. Take off your shoes and place it in the same bin and place all bags from the stroller to the conveyer belt. Unhook the carseat with the infant and set on the table. Fold stroller and place on belt. Take your infant out of the car seat and place car seat on belt. Walk through detector with infant and toddler handing over tickets to the TSA agent.

5. On the other side of the security check point, place your infant in the carseat and strap him in. Open the stroller and place the carseat in the stroller. You'll want to keep the stroller with you until you get to the gate where you will receive a gate-check. Collect the rest of your belongings including your shoes and head to the gate.

That's it! You successfully passed through security and scanned your belongings by yourself with your two children.
